Revel 2025 Artist made embossed cotton paper

I am currently navigating a transformative journey at the intersection of past trauma and present joy. The process of letting go of deep-seated pain and resentment I harbored for much of my adult life has allowed me to embrace new beginnings, symbolized by this new body of work.

Over the past decade, I have used art as a tool to process the childhood trauma I endured, exploring themes of loss and grief in my work. In the past two years, I have journeyed towards a new beginning and my art has evolved in unexpected ways. Trusting the creative process, I have allowed myself to explore different pathways in the studio, ultimately leading me to a place of captivating inspiration and artistic expression. As I have reached this point of healing and release, I have also embraced a significant shift in my artistic practice - a newfound use of color, reflecting the happiness and lightness I have found in my life.

While the meaning and relevance of this new work may still be unclear, I continue to create with a sense of curiosity and openness, embracing the uncertainty of this transformative moment.
